And the Southwest LRT/TC&W re-route saga continues

Two recent articles from the Star-Tribune:

http://www.startribune.com/local/west/215394011.html

According to the second one, one idea they now have for a re-route through Saint Louis Park, MN, is to put the tracks up on a high earth berm that may be up to two stories tall. Man, I wish they had kept the faith with the old Milwaukee Road 29th Street corridor. That way this swell boondoggle would have been avoided.

Also according to the second article: TC&W has "softened" its opposition to the SLP re-route. It's president claims they need plenty of room for freight in case they move, say, wind turbine blades along the line. Left unsaid is how will they make sure the re-route is good enough to handle those babies.
