Amtrak - Early Advertising

Postby Mark D » Mon Dec 09, 2013 7:47 pm

A long time ago, someone gave me a stack of photograhps. Some of ships, some of trains, basically Amtrak Advertsising.
They're all black and white, but here are a couple to look at. For those who remember the era, it'll look kind of quaint. For those who are too young to remember the era, they'll look very, very old.

Those Amfleet cars are still around. And I think you still can't stand up tall in them. At least, by the windows.

Notice on the bottom photo the size of little plastic rectangular plate filled with some sort of food like substance. Compare that with the size of his hand. Wow! Big meal? Or giant hand?
People bitch about Amtrak, but I think it has come a long way since those days.
