>> What: A unique and scenic rail excursion using a historic steam
>> engine on tracks that see very limited services, passenger or
>> otherwise, and even less rarely steam trains

When and Where:
>> Saturday, 01 October, 2016 and October 1t5th
Departs Garibaldi, Oregon 10:30am/Arrives Batterson, Oregon 2:30pm
returns to Garibaldi 6:15pm. Stops made in Wheeler and Rockaway
special photo freight train will run prior to excursion for photographic purposes.

Cost- $125 per person, advance
>> ticket purchase required (no walk-ups). No children under 8.
>>
>> The one and only Oregon Coast Crawler will take you on a memorable
>> all day journey of exploration and beautiful Oregon scenery, all by
>> vintage train powered by a historic steam locomotive. Originating in
>> the small fishing village of Garibaldi, this signature RailsNW
>> excursion makes a leisurely trip on the Port of Tillamook Bay line
>> along the dramatic Northern Oregon Coastline affording fantastic
>> panoramic views of both Tillamook and Nehalem Bays. You will have
>> some free time to explore the interesting harbor town of Wheeler
>> before the train turns inland to journey through the coast range and
>> canyons. As we continue toour destination of Batterson, we will be
>> traveling through the scenic and not easily accessible Nehalem River
>> canyon. On the return trip to Garibaldi, we will be stopping for
>> further free time in Rockaway Beach to allow passengers to stretch
>> their legs and possibly pick up some taffy or an ice cream cone, both
>> locally made in Tillamook
>> County. Our train
>> is scheduled to be pulled by the McCloud River Railroad #25, a
>> locomotive that was featured in the movie 'Stand By Me'. We will also
>> be using an open air car for unparalleled views and enhanced
>> enjoyment, in addition to the two indoor coaches. All passengers will
>> have a guaranteed indoor seat and the outdoor space will be shared
>> throughout the day. A minimum of three photo runbys have been
>> scheduled and more will be added as time permits. The trip includes a
>> box lunch to be served onboard. Whether a railfan, a photographer, or
>> simply someone who enjoys a relaxing day on the Oregon Coast, the
>> Crawler is sure to please. As this trip is limited to less than 120
>> passengers, we highly recommend making your reservations ASAP.
