A St Louis Fallen Flag

Postby BurlingtonJohn » Thu Jun 22, 2017 5:09 pm

The Manufacturers Railway was a unit of the Anhueser Busch corporation. It did some contract work and switching, but it's main claim to fame was that it switched AB's St Louis Brewery. Sold off after In-Bev bought AB, these distinctive locomotives were replaced by Foster-Townsend Rail Logistics. I'm not sure where they wound up, but I saw a photo somewhere of a shortline locomotive switching the plant recently.

Does AB still have railroad service or are they now totally truck oriented?

They still have rail, they just don't operate it.

To bad. I would bet the railroads chased off this good business as they have many other opportunities. At least the rail still exists so perhaps someday.

They still have rail service, provided by Foster-Townsend Rail Logistics.
