Bill Withuhn passed

Postby Mark D » Sat Jul 08, 2017 8:42 am

Bill Withuhn was head curator of the Museum of Transportation until his retirement in 2010. He was also a member of the board of directors for the Friends of the 261 and back in the 90's would usually be found on the train when trips were running. Also fired the engine from time to time. I didn't know him WELL, but I knew him to pass the time and talk about railroad history, especially steam power.
Sorry to see him gone. He was a good man and a promoter of steam.

I never met Mr. Withuhn but have read some of his work and of course know his reputation. He will be missed and I know of nobody who can fill his shoes. Condolences to his family and friends.
