Polson Logging No. 2 now on the Oregon Coast

Postby Fitz » Sun May 20, 2018 10:24 pm

This weekend I got an opportunity to participate in another photo special, after a year of inactivity. Thanks to my daughter Laurie who flew to Oregon from California to drive my to Garibaldi. The occasion was the debut of Polson Logging 2-8-2 No. 2, transplanted from the Mid Continent museum in Wisconsin to the Oregon Coast Scenic. Former McCloud River 2-6-2 No. 25 also participated. I took a lot of photos. Here's one.

That is truly a very hansom steam engine. Sure wish I were closer to there. With 261 being killed by Amtrak not much going on around here anymore.

Things are sure quiet on the board, so I will post another Polson Logging shot that I converted to black and white.

I really like trestle pictures of steam. Thanks for posting it. Yeah, sometimes this forum, which doesn't have many active members anymore seems to go completely dead. Part of it is what is going on with most discussion forums - it's gone to places like You Tube, Facebook, Tweet, and Google. Less need for forums such as this. Even Train Orders, by far the largest railroad discussion forum, is far slower than the old days.
Antique Radio Forums, another group of discussion boards related to antique radios and other electronics of yesteryear is down in traffic even though it's full of old men who don't tweet or use any of those I mentioned above. They're all dying off. Not many younger people on that forum.

Great photos. :D Wish I could've been there.

I am just now getting around to looking at the rest of the photos I shot. Here are a couple. The ex-McCloud 25 was also a participant in all of this fun.
