The Glorious 261 on September 8, 2018

Postby SOO2719 » Mon Sep 10, 2018 7:45 pm

Here is the glorious 261 westbound at Powers Blvd in Chanhassen about 2:35 P.M. on the lovely afternoon of September 8, 2018. I always wanted to catch a train at this location along the Twin Cities & Western, and the 261 and the "Gourmet Express" was destined to be the one. :D I tried to make the power poles work for me by having them help denote the right-of-way and provide a sense of contrast with the train.

Here is the "Cedar Rapids" and T.C.& W. GP38-2 2015 at Powers Blvd. I was close enough to wave to everybody aboard the train but far enough away to keep safe, the best way to railfan.

Nice photos. But I don't see the real locomotive, just that one that drags us back because we don't have a place to turn it. :-( :-)

The train was westbound in both pics, with the real locomotive doing the work and the diesel along for the ride. :) Shame there is no turntable or wye at Glencoe, but oh well.
