That was very interesting to watch. They sure made a big thing about the opening and with just cause.

This is amazing footage The shot of the cab forward strolling down the street at a good clip with the engineer's had on the throttle is impressive. Seeing the number of people who came out to watch the show points to a far different time in history when entertainment was not so easy to come by. The fact this 1939 film is in color probably points directly to the fact Kimball worked for Disney. The average person did not have much access to color equipment. I bet if you find newsreel footage of this event it would be black and white.
