If only the railroads had cops patrolling the tracks all the time, like this Faribault P.D. officer was before the 4014 charged through town on July 17, 2019:

Alas, such security would be cost-prohibitive, and so fools like those above can easily continue to tempt fate on the tracks.

Looks to me like a cop of some stripe has just arrived on the scene.
We human beings like to think we're so smart. Yeah, we can devise all sorts of things that no other animal can do. But we aren't so good at being able to sense danger until it's either almost too late (luck) or just a tad too late (dead) .
However, that is built in nature so that even we humans cull the herd.
