Assorted Photos

Postby Mark D » Mon Apr 03, 2017 4:26 pm

Not a lot going on here this week. Maybe it's time to post some photos that won't mean much to anyone, and normally wouldn't be seen on a discussion forum or for that matter any website. But just because of that, they are photos of topics that people just never see.

I'm not sure how much I'll describe each photo, or even how many photo's I'm going to post. What I do describe will be attached with the photo itself.

Milwaukee Road S-3 #261 finally going together again after a pretty much total rebuild. Jacket is on the front half of the boiler. Much more yet to do.

Post all the photos that don't mean much you want. This is my kind of stuff.

Thanks.

Awesome stuff, I hope 261 will travel somewhere I can see her in the future.

Thanks for the comments. I can provide some more when I find them. They're scattered on various flash drives and three different computers, usually buried in a folder that is buried in another folder.
Brian, I seriously doubt that the 261 will ever make it back east again. Times have changed since the mid '90s. It's even difficult to find a place to operate out here.

Mark, is 261 an Amtrak certified engine, or is there any chance it could be in the future?

I wonder if any new opportunities might arise with steam-friendly Wick Moorman in the CEO's seat at Amtrak.

261 is Amtrak 'certified' and has been since shortly after Sept. 11, 2001.
