Fourjc, I would probably have to make at least a hundred cuts on the piece that I have. Any idea how long a blade like that would last on SS?

My lathe will hold the tube, no problem there, but how do I part it? My lathe is a wood lathe of course, and it is a Jet Midi, so it is not even a large one at that. Forgive me if I am missing something obvious.

Yeah, sorry 'bout that! 0.035" wall thickness is what I meant to say.

It is T-304 steel with a 1.00" OD and .035" ID.
