Re: Completed Locomotive Stand

Nice job.  Looks as though it could almost support a full-sized Northern, or at least an EMD SW1000.  :D

Re: Quick update tomorrow (3/19)

Yeah, now it’s an annual thing.  It used to be once you had acquired an...

Same here.  The shop with which I deal does excellent work at reasonable prices.  I can get tons of cutting done for $5000—and when the machine breaks down, I won’t be the one paying to have it repaired.

Gee!  It’s only $5000.  I think I’ll order two, just in case one of them breaks.  :D

I might be interested, but only if the drawings are in DXF, which is the “universal” format for exchanging mechanical drawings between different otherwise-incompatible systems.  PDF is page-oriented and has no concept of drawing scale.

Re: ENC Variable Frequency Drive

Just gotta be careful with deceleration. If you set it too high, can overload and pop breakers Another potential problem is if a lathe has threaded spindle, excessive deceleration might unscrew the chuck or faceplate and deposit same in your shirt pocket.  BTW, the language is referred to a...
