Re: HARDINGE KL-1

I'm not sure what you are asking as far as tool holders. Are you referring to tool post sizes such as Aloris AXA or BXA sizes, or the actual tool holders for the inserts?[/quote] SIR GLENN Better late than never, and for us it's never too late !!! We need Your input. Will check with Hardinge on the ...

Re: HARDINGE KL-1

I saw one claim from someone in the UK that stated that he owned a British HLV-H and the serial number started with KL-1, so possibly they are the same as a HLV series. I saw some pics of KL-1s, and they sure look similar to HLVs. GLENN Hi This is indeed a British made version of the HLV-H. The tag...

Re: OPTIMUM D 240 x 500 DC VARIO

But just ignore that point. You are going to need to do lots of reading about this, And then come back with questions you have about anything you don't quite understand. If you can build knives like your example then you won't have too much trouble. Pete PETE thanks for the enlightening response Yo...

Re: OPTIMUM D 240 x 500 DC VARIO

HAROLD Hi OK ! We would now formally ask Your advice, please. What would U suggest, as the bottom line in finalising this problem of ours. Which Collets to get and which Collets to utilise permanently ?? To be or not to be...............that's the ultimate question, so what's it gonna be ?? We await...

Re: OPTIMUM D 240 x 500 DC VARIO

GLEN WEGMAN Hi That was a very good background to the application of these Collets. Would look at both, try them out and really experience them for ourselves. Otherwise it would all remain theory. Do forgive our ignorance, we did not hear about this before - "YMMV" Is it You must make verification ?...

Re: OPTIMUM D 240 x 500 DC VARIO

I'd perhaps even be looking at some of the smaller ER collets like the 8 11 or ER16 thinking that the holder would be less in the way. You could just fit it up in the machines chuck and use it. Not particularly recommending that one but it's the idea I'd be heading on a budget with a definite purpos...
