Re: Trying to prevent ribbing on tapers

one other suggestion is to alter the way you are sanding with 240 and 600 grit paper. If you hold the paper stationary against the surface (even when backed with a file) you will not remove the grooves. It is helpful to apply the abrasive diagonally across the ribs you are removing- across the furro...

Re: Champion Tool Works 12" Lathe - Carriage Auto Feed

does that lower left hand lever move through 180 degrees? how much travel does it have?
I found a photo of another 12 inch lathe showing the lever 180 degrees from the one in your photo. Maybe something is stuck in the apron.

McMaster sells 3/8-16 T-slot nuts sized for 5/8 slots.

but, as someone already said- you can make them yourself.

Re: Question: Parting Blade Thickness

perhaps I can change direction a little on this thread. what advise would you have for parting tool thickness when cutting mild steel, up to 1.5 inches dia, on a 12" lathe? I have rarely been able to part without fighting severe chatter.

Re: Show us your milling machine!

Here’s my little Burke... I am just beginning to clean up a #4 similar to yours. It hasn't run in 30 years and I'm trying to make sure I have correct lube in the necessary spots. Mine has the Master gearhead motor. do you know what lube it takes? I'm guessing there is bearing grease for the motor b...

Re: Rockwell/Walker Turner 28-500 band saw air pump

Steve, sorry to be confused by the direction of this thread but did you ever get your answer about the spring in the air pump? I have the delta badged version of this saw and can check any details you'd like.

Re: rockwell bandsaw

the belts on my machine are 1" wide. the impressed numbers are:

1626V517 34
5/16 thick, cogged
approx 53 1/2 circ.

1626V305 66
7/16 thick, cogged
approx 32 3/4 circ.

there is a printed label:
Wood's Variable Speed
ORS SC
does this help?

Re: rockwell bandsaw

I've sent the belt and pulley dimensions via PM, but would be happy to share if anyone else is interested. Perhaps someone can help me here- I'm not sure of the correct way to measure the belts. Wrap a string around them? There's a number impressed in each belt. is that just a batch number or is it ...

Re: rockwell bandsaw

I have a Delta 28-365 and can measure the belts that came on my saw, and the pulleys if you'd like. I can't guarantee the belts are OEM correct, just the ones with the saw when I got it. The saw was in running condition, so they were probably close. Can also send photos if necessary
