Re: Central Vermont steam crane (not a model)

We also allow guests to come up and see the equipment, but we don't get very big crowds here. I think more of advertisement to the railfans will do the trick.

Central Vermont steam crane (not a model)

Thought all of you live steamers might find this interesting. It's a 50-ton steam crane built in 1919, the Bytown Railway Society acquired it in 1967 in operational condition from the CV and has been running ever since. It's an interesting piece of machinery to operate and it's the only one in opera...

Re: New member and Myford ML10 restoration

Hi everyone. I soaked the top slide where the tool holder is mounted in vinegar since it's a small part and the result was very pleasing. The rust had vanished, after cleaning it in water with baking soda to remove the vinegar completely, so it would not rust again. I also started cleaning the apron...

Would i use sandpaper on that or is their something specific? I will post pictures of the Apron parts tomorrow as i removed...

Re: New member and Myford ML10 restoration

Re: New member and Myford ML10 restoration

Thanks for the links. I sent a email to both of them hope to get a reply. There are so many small parts and when taking everything apart you forget how it all goes back together, the manual will make everything easier.
