Re: Q: Trustworthy Source For Genuine Gillette Razor Blades ?w

Now we know where Cousin Itt has been hanging out…..
Could always hammer forge a straight razor from a railroad spike and save money. Course that will be offset by bandaid expenditures….

Re: Grub screws

There are keyless style couplings that are a better choice here than the keyed coupling you bought when you have no keyway…..

Re: Pneumatic cylinder

Plenty easy to control the position of an air cylinder with no mass acting upon it. If your not controlling the pressures on both sides of the piston during movement you end up with a big oscillating spring.

Re: Pneumatic cylinder

As I pointed out in your previous post about these gates and where you had a video link showing them bouncing, you already have flow control valves on both ports of the cylinder. Your only problem is the exhaust side of the down stroke is not restricted enough. You always control the flow to an air ...

Re: Seeking Information ... and a clutch.

Looking at your pics again I realized that the clutch is part of the Wisconsin outdrive, your not doing to have any problems having the clutch rebuilt. Replacement parts may even be found. Alot of those engines were out there.
Plenty of shops still reline and rebuild clutches.

Re: Seeking Information ... and a clutch.

Is photo #18 showing the clutch in the center of the pic? If it has a slippage problem I would think it would be possible to replace the friction material.

Re: Crossing gates

It looks like you have flow control valves on the air cylinder. Try reducing the exhaust side of the cylinder when the gate goes down to slow things down and reduce bounce. Look for the screw head on the air fitting where the tubing attaches.

Re: B&S No.2 Plain Mill

Not knowing your hp or rpm of the original spindle motor,… but you will find a modern hp equal C face mount smaller in diameter than the old motor. Seems like you would be able to make an adapter mount to marry a motor to the mill. Can't tell how long the shaft has to be but you might be able to use...

Re: Forced Into the 21st Century

Generally there is a quick setup screen for vfds with just the important bits. Motor hp, max hz, accel/decel rates, remote or vfd panel for control. It's not like all the parameters are blank, it is pretty much ready to go. You do have the ability to tailor to exactly what an application needs but f...

Re: Sticking acetal tires on steel bearings

How about trying to utilize skateboard wheels? They have bearings and are rugged. Lots of sizes available.
