Re: ID these small lights
I suspect the operator of the plastic injection machine had just changed from red to clear and all of the red hadn't yet been cleared from the system. Two are really clear, one is slightly pink, and the other is more pink, all on the same sprue. But I like "Barbie Train" better. (My daught...

Re: Looking for Signal Castings
Somewhere in deepest recesses of my mind I think there is a memory of a lady live steamer who had her own locomotive that she painted pink. Maybe an LE Atlantic and probably at least 45 years ago. I never saw it, but certainly would have clearer memories of it if I had.

RRSC classification lamps from my jewelry box where they have resided since 2005. I don't have any idea what's with the pink lenses. Maybe someone with prototype experience can tell us when pink lenses are used.

Yep. I must be the only one left. Touchy and irritating interacting adjustments on a Collins modem from back in the days when it took a full height 17" equipment rack to hold just two modems.

Re: Looking for Signal Castings
Too busy with a 10+ year backlog of hobby projects, the energy of a 75-year-old, and putting in radiant under floor heat in the house with a new mod-con boiler! My thought when I saw the cross bucks was that they would duplicate really nice on a 3D printer. Once drawn the printing wouldn't take a lo...

Winton Castings V2.0 (Sold)
I'm not sure why I bought these on Ebay at least 20 years ago. I think they are all Winton. I've never had a Winton engine or expected to get one. Some are unsullied castings, some may be junk, some may need to be bushed and new holes put in, I just don't know. What you see is what you get. To allow...

Re: Boiler, home made!
A couple of other thoughts - A weldor can assess the welds, but may not have a clue about pressure vessels. Do an assessment of what you have (the weldor can help with that) and then do some research on basic pressure vessel/boiler design. It's not rocket science and there is lots of information ava...

Re: Stuart Steam Boiler Feed Pump (SBFP) - Stuart gasket material "Copperite" and "Oakenstrong"
I did a search of archive.org. Copperite showed up as a color for an Eagle oil can and a type of high speed steel, but that was it. none of the hits were in ME.
