MY-T-Mig 1882 Questions

I just picked up an old MY-T-Mig 1882 welder. I need a manual and wondered if anybody had one or if they knew who built these welders. Someone said SnapOn used to sell them, but I e-mailed them and they didn't respond.
Thanks for any help

Re: Q about sheet metal fabrication and adhesives.

It might be worth the effort to try the adhesive if you don't have access to anyone who can weld the aluminum. As someone else suggested using round cake pans for the ends and rolling your metal rather than bending might work well and it would give you 1"to 2" to glue and maybe add a coupl...

Brown & Sharpe #2 Surface Grinder Spindle

I just purchased a B&S #2 manual surface grinder. I need to fix the spindle motor and I can't seem to separate it from the spindle. I removed the motor and spindle from the machine, & removed the arbor for the grinding wheel and that's as far as I can go.There are 2 collars at the end of the...

Re: Di Acro 24" Brake-here's the pic

I have one just like this one. Very handy for pan building. The jaws are fairly easy to replace (make new). I saw one yesterday at a machine dealers site for $1500. Take a friend if you intend to take it home, it will be all any two will want to move even detached from it's stand. A brand new Di-Acr...

Re: Driving machines with overhead line shaft

There might be some shots at the Henry Ford Greenfield Village site, they have quite a sample of older machines on display. About 15 years ago while painting houses for summer work while not teaching, I had a chance to visit a shop that had been built by the neighbor's father. This shop had overhead...

Re: Bridgeport Series I CNC Mill

The box on the right side had the original controller boards. Mostly these have been removed. The millmaster card goes in this box and I also left room for the PC. The back cabinet has all the original power supplys and transformers and switches, we didn't touch that other than running power to it. ...

Re: Bridgeport Series I CNC Mill

When we purchased this machine for $2500 I called Bridgebort and asked if I could feed information to the mill thru the rs 232 port. They said no that the memory of the controller was too small. They said people were having good luck with the Machine Master retro fit. Maybe there are some people out...

Re: Bridgeport Series I CNC Mill

I have a one just like your that we picked up for the high school I work at. Because of the age of the controller and the limited ability to dribble programs into memory we decided to update the controller. We purchased a driver board that replaced most of the controller logic in the big box below a...

Re: Atlas 7" Shaper

Marshall Where are you located? I am in Traverse City, Michigan, a great place to vacation and I will even throw in free shaper lessons. I just acquired an 8" Shape Rite and after not using one in 35 years(since high school) I was making chips in short order, but as Al mentioned, SLOWLY. Good L...

Re: Side replacement after accident

I am still trying to figure out what kind of an accident. Is this the work of an Edward Scissors-hand . It looks as if it were next to a large slicing machine, possibly another airplane blade did this damage?Any quesses?
