Re: Auto rack

I want to say that most of the bi-level open cars were being developed in the late 50's but I'm not 100 percent on this. I wouldn't be surprised if anything older was in a boxcar. ca9939f26.jpg I'd love to see some old Plymouths like these in 1/8th scale. I was also looking at the possibility of 3D ...

Re: Auto rack

I've got a 4 car rack that's currently number 108 of things I'm working on. ... The barbie 57 Chevys are really close as they measure 27 inches long. That puts it around the 1.7ish scale but looks really close anyway. A decent coat of correct paint is a must unless you like the powder blue or...

Railroad Supply 0-4-0 piston valve question

Gents,
I'm looking at timing the above 1.5" locomotive for a friend. Between us we have no prints to refer to.

Does RRS specify a measurement for piston valve travel at full forward, and if they do what is it?

If not, then so be it.

Thanks!

WTT Superscale whistle

I'm working on jewelry at the moment, and I have a stepped 5 chime Superscale whistle that I've had forever and never used.

I'd really like to trade it for one of Superscale's three chime long bell if anyone is interested.

Re: WTB 1880 Passenger Car Trucks

I don't know if these are correct enough for you. The cars are rough but the trucks may work and they're not a bad price...

Re: Baldwin S12, what are these?

I believe the rectangle one is the class light bracket and the round item is the electrical plug for same.

Agree - the set w/o brake hangers. Looks like a case for CI bolsters.

I was thinking the same thing, but didn't remember RRS having those cast on rocker points on top of the bolster like these have.

MDM F-unit wiring

Folks, I'm helping a friend sort out the wiring on his loco. Would anyone have a scanned copy of the wiring instructions that I could beg/borrow or steal?

Thanks!

Re: LOUD diesel horns?

I'll second the Stebel horns. I have a "nautilus truck horn" that is a single note at 300hz. It's real close to one of the WABCO single note hooters that Baldwin used on their early switchers. It's loud enough but not "kills your ears" loud. Check the frequencies and you could m...
