found an interesting design for a water pump, supposed to deliver plenty of volume and pressure with very little power consumption, the figure I can find is 30 GPM at 250 psi with 250 watt input. The resulting water flow can be used to generate power with a pelton turbine and end up with a good bit...

Build or buy a Roller Box instead, a couple of 1/8" long test cuts on your chosen stock to set the roller box up and then the job is a single pass, for as many parts as you need from the same stock ;-)

The best way for re-usable fasteners is to mark the orientation of the fastener, loosen it and then torque it back up to a test figure and see if it reaches the marked point of rotation, loosen again and repeat with increasing torque until you get the fastener back in the same orientation. The pedestal grinder in the first workshop where I did any tool grinding had a built in water pot, I can't remember but I think it was part of the stand.

Splinters are always more sensitive when brushed in the direction forcing them into you, I find that and then use a razor to shave the skin in the opposite direction, picking up and dragging out the splinter in the process.
