Re: Anybody experienced with P3 .035 wire?

Glenn, If your getting burnback your wire feed rate is too slow, or you may certainly be having a problem with the spool of wire hanging up. Your wire should be coming out of the nozzle with knurl marks on it...if the rollers aren't set tight enough the wire could be slipping which will drop the spe...

Re: Kant-Twist Clamps

I believe what you have is knockoffs. All Kant Twist have copper plated screws and nuts with the exception of the stainless versions. Your picture doesn't show copper plated nuts. I have a set of kant twist that are knockoffs, but they were not sold under the Kant Twist name and don't have the T-han...

Re: youtube ads increasing?

Harold, I hate to say it but politics has become intermingled in just about every aspect of life in some way or form. I don't like politics, never have, never will but as of recent it's everywhere. Fortunately for the moment it hasn't infiltrated my shop, this board, live steam, etc......but it's bo...

Chris Hollands,

That would be wonderful if you can either take pictures or scan them.

Much Appreciated!!! Nyle

Re: Super Power Detail Westinghouse Cross Compound Pump Kit

Any way I could get a copy of the drawings before you send the pump off? I have 3" scale pump castings, but no drawings, so anything would help.

Thank you,

Nyle

No tricks to remove a closed if no provisions were made for removal in a blind housing. Best you can do is collapse it and extract.
Swearing at it helps with removal. :D
Is this before or after you hit your thumb with a hammer?

Re: Bought a Hardinge Sjogren No2 D1-4

What kind of runout do you have if you use a 3 jaw chuck ? Have you indicated the taper on the spindle to make sure the spindle is running true? I'll try to take a picture of my 3J chuck tonight and show you how my backplate comes apart. Have you tried contacting Hardinge to see if they have an expl...

Re: Bought a Hardinge Sjogren No2 D1-4

jscarmozza, the 4 bolts you had removed, do they come from the front face to the back? On my collet chuck there are 4 bolts that come through the front face to the back threading into the L-1 back plate. Once the back plate is removed there are 4 screws that hold the collet chuck together. My backpl...

Re: Bought a Hardinge Sjogren No2 D1-4

Harold, I didn't like the amount I had to crank the handwheel to both tighten and loosen the collets. Lot of wasted time when doing semi production type work....would much rather have a lever operated drawbar set up. Granted you loose the ability to run larger stock when you have a drawtube, but I b...

Re: Bought a Hardinge Sjogren No2 D1-4

I have a Sjogren 3J collet chuck that came with my Leblond. Interesting in that it was apparently supplied new with the lathe when built and has the machines serial number on it. Only used it once and didn't really care for it. When I got the lathe 20 some years ago, I had to regrind the spindle nos...
