Re: fuel topic
Coal is not going away, and you will probably see a resurgence in the not to far off future. This country is coming up upon a major transformation, very soon at that. The "green energy" scam of solar and wind power is going to fade away and the country will return to using "fossil&quo...

Re: tractor engine top end rebuild
Diesels are/were designed to smoke right out of the factory such that you could work all day and keep the bugs, insects and mosquitoes at bay. Now, especially in states like California an New York, the clean immisions diesels have everything screwed up and the mosquitoes and bugs are out of control....

Re: tractor engine top end rebuild
Not that your going to do it now, but many manufacturers recommend replacing head bolts / studs when rebuilding an engine. Each time you torque them down they stretch, they are designed too. Re: Clover 14/20 lathe
I have a Clover 17/25 but had wanted a manual. I found a company in Italy whom I reached out to and inquired about availability. I was quoted around $200 . I don’t like the machine enough to warrant the expense so I didn’t go any further. I would contact Summit lathes and ask about the manual and ge...

Re: steam channel
Why did full size steam die and diesels take over? Maintenance / costs were probably the #1 factor. In simplified terms the hobby isn't that much different......cost (and time ) to build a steamer and maintenance required to keep it going. It can take thousands of hours to build a steamer, never min...
