go to the IBLS web site,there are several posts about fireing a 3/4 scale engine on oil.Look under people for the name Gordon Corwin, he has a burnner and ashpan print on the subject. there are many people on the site who have done that and many other things you may find of intrest.

try Little Engines,I sent Mike (old owner) @ Highiron ,the book's from Little Engine when it was in California, he may be able to help you. I know that he sold Little Engines to a new owner this year,you may want to try him too,good luck with your search.

If you can not find it near you try Brownells.com this is the largest supplyer gunsmith supply,they have all kinds of stuff to color metal.

Hello all,I am looking for a suppler that sells small amounts of supplies O-rings, s/s balls etc. I know that I can get stuff from McMaster Carr,I do not need 100 or more, I have looked on line for small sellers in hardware(o-rings etc) no luck. Any help would be great.

on the IBLS web site you will find under the steam engine parts heading an artical by Gordon Corwin about using oil to fire a 3/4 scale engine. You may find it usefull in your quest.

if I recall ,there are several other post's on how to do this, I removed a broken tap using acid (battery) from a brass casting. Worked very well, took 2 days, acid was cut with water, casting is now finished pump( water).

fire door openning( right /left)

Hello all, which way should the fire door swing? I see most hinged from the right,coal burnners seem to be the one's I see that way, I am going to use LP. does it matter? Being right handed,seem's that the door would get in the way of the stuff on that side.
