Re: Carbide endmills in a Endmill HOLDER

Weldon holders work very well. Shrink fit and hydraulics will outperform them and in some cases a quality ER properly fitted and clean will run truer in my experience. Like anything, some will swear by them and some swear at them. But honestly a quality weldon holder is an excellent choice all round...

Re: Carbide endmills in a Endmill HOLDER

Some applications, high helix, aggressive cuts you may have reason for concern but we have ran a pile of solid carbides up to 3/4" without grinding flats. However, it is very good insurance. Largely depends on material and application. I do grind flats if I feel there will be an issue and have ...

Re: Constructing the Martin Lewis Little Engines Northern Tender

Bill has a good solution. I often have items shipped to my sister in TX and then sent up.
McMaster will ship to a business in Canada if you know someone with an account. We use them all the time.

That was great Anthony. The footage inside the cab and riding car feel like the real thing.
Great looking set up front to back. Thanks for posting, 1/8 scale me enjoyed that today.

Thank you Anthony. A great source of information for someone like me with a limited knowledge of steam.
I hope we don't lose you to a university. Their classrooms are much quieter.

Re: Inexpensive Rotary Broach

I would agree with Bill. They can be finnicky to set up.
I always used Slater. Not cheap though, as was your request. Their customer service was excellent however.

The Hemmingway kit does look pretty interesting.

Re: 3/4" Scale J1e

Great detail work as per usual Jack!
Really like the brake beam drawings. I often wish there were isometric views of items like this.
If there is a second loco in my future I would like to build a prototype over a model. Love the details.
Thank you for continuing to post your progress.
