Re: Want to Buy Superscale Whistle

I reached out to Dave at Superscale. The whistles are not yet back in production.

Re: Anyone have a medium EE steam injector?

Hi,

I have an EE intermediate injector that I'd part with. It is one of 4 that was left un-sandblasted and has a shiny bronze finish. I just want to confirm that it is the intermediate that you are after and not the standard.

Let me know,

James

Wanted Cole's Power Models Sight Glass

Hi Everyone,

I'm looking for a Cole's Power Models Supply boiler sight glass. These sight glasses have integrated boiler shutoff valves and blowdown. Let me know if you have one and would be willing to part with it.

Thanks!

Re: 80” Boxpok drivers in 1” scale

Its very cool to see a box spoke driver in this scale that actually emulates the undercut cavities like the prototype.

Re: Rebuilding the Birch 3/4" NYC Pacific

Very cool setup. I really like how you used the 123 block and shim stock to help figure out your centerlines. Do you have any detailed pictures of the old rods? Since you are in the middle of valve gear design, I'd like to know the best method of determining the length of the combination lever and u...

Re: WHO NEEDS CNC?

Dave,

I'm a huge fan of manual machining, seeing challenging parts made on an old school machine is really interesting. I’d love to see a video showing how you would attack making this handle from two pieces on the chucker.

Re: Restoring a modified Allen 2-4-0 barn find

Hi John, I helped Brandon with the rebuild. I am finishing up an Allen 4-6-0 as well. We made the clevises from 4130 hardened them to 35RC. I did not make hardened clevis pins, as I figured I could easily replace these. The link saddle pin and lifting arm pins were made from hardened and ground A2, ...

Re: Restoring a modified Allen 2-4-0 barn find

I was looking for the live steam article “A Tale if Five Moguls” specifically for a steam dome ball valve throttle solution. I reached out to LSORR about getting a back issue but never heard back from them. If anyone has a copy of the article I would appreciate it. I would like to equip Brandon’s en...

Your work is beautiful. I hope to do much of the same on my Allen Ten Wheeler I am finishing up. I don't think I ill have the clearance between the drivers and the firebox to do the boiler rivet details, but I do plan to do the back head similar to yours. One of the things I do not like about the st...

Stephenson Slide Valves

Hi Everyone, I have been working on fine tuning the timing on my Allen Ten Wheeler. I set the valves using the technique described in the Allen drawings. I have run into one small issue though. I cannot even out the valve travel across the ports on the right side of the engine. I started out by find...
