Re: What Size Quick Change for Enco 13 x 40?
I currently use an AXA on my 13x40 Grizzly G0776. I used to use a BXA. I build airguns, and I found my view almost always being blocked by my BXA toolpost when working on all the small parts. The AXA fits perfectly, and let's me get a really good view of the work. One other plus to the AXA for me is...

Re: Bought a Hardinge Sjogren No2 D1-4
Steve,
That was precisely one of the reasons I jumped on it. I've got a full set by 64ths and a full set of metric 5C collets. I'll buy everything above 1" as soon as possible, then to stay under the wife's radar, I'll accumulate the other sizes as they pop up.

Re: Bought a Hardinge Sjogren No2 D1-4
Finally mounted the chuck this evening, after adjusting the camlocks to match my 5C collet chuck I was extremely impressed. TIR of less than .0005. Mind you my lathe is a Harbor Freight 12x36. I'm not sure I can improve on that or not. I will probably leave it as is since it is more than close enoug...

Re: Vfd for lathe
I installed a Teco L510-202-H3-U on my 12x36. I bought the package deal with a Reliance 1.5hp motor from Dealers Electric. I think the VFD alone is about $130. I'm very happy with it. Installation and setup was simple. The manual was well written and easy to follow. My particular model can not be fi...

Bought a Hardinge Sjogren No2 D1-4
I found a Hardinge Sjogren No2 D4 with a Vicon 2J to 5C adapter this weekend. The chuck turned smooth and looked to be in fairly good shape. I went ahead and bought it as it will hopefully be an upgrade to my import 5C chuck. I had searched forums and eBay trying to find an average price for one wit...

Re: 4 way tool post identification
I'll see if I can't give you a decent description when I get home. Every time I go into the crate that has all the spare tooling that came with this lathe I find something I've never seen before. It had been in the family I bought it from since it was new. The great grandfather was a jeweler if I re...

Re: 4 way tool post identification
I'm honestly not sure. There are some faded stamps on top that can't be read. What got me about this one was that the spring loaded cam lock post.

4 way tool post identification
Hello all, I just purchased a Southbend 9A that came with a huge amount of tooling. Since I had most of the tooling I needed already I figured I'd probably sell the extras. One thing that I have never seen was a 4 way toolpost like this. There are no distinguishable markings on top so I figured I'd ...

Re: LeBlond Regal 12"
Carm, You pretty much hit the nail on the head. I usually only get one night a week to do anything in the shop. 90% of my work is in aluminum and delrin. I already have a Grizzly G0768 and I've enjoyed learning on the machine, it's just time to jump up a size so I can do more than just valves and sm...

Re: LeBlond Regal 12"
I'm still on the fence about making the trip out there. There are two lathes in my area I'm interested in, one being the Leblond and one being a Grizzly DF-1224G. I can only make a trip to see one as they are both 3 hours away in separate directions. The Leblond is probably the better deal as it has...

LeBlond Regal 12"
Hello everyone, I was hoping I might be able to find anyone with experience with a Leblond Regal 12". I found one a couple of hours away with an extremely motivated seller. The lathe looks to be complete, but I don't know enough about them. I had a few questions I hope someone can help me with....

Re: Help identifying this Atlas lathe
I appreciate the wealth of information y'all have taken the time to share. I've done repairs and rebuilds to some Chinese lathes I could find dirt cheap. It's not saying much since parts are normally plentiful. I have never touched an Atlas though. I know they are light duty, but I love the lines on...
