FOR SALE, WORKING MOE 1-1/2" STEAM AIR PUMP ****sold****

FOR SALE - This is a working Moe's steam air pump modeled after the Westinghouse compound air pump. While the Moe's design has garnered a bad rap for unreliability, the bugs have been corrected in this one and it starts every time. Corrections made to the pump are: 1. Check valve seats were dressed,...

Re: ASME BPVC Section I Power Boilers

I believe the ASME has elected to not govern miniature boilers by the code. The threshold for many states is greater than 12" id for the code to be applicable, and state inspections be required. ASME does not provide the code for free, current copies must be purchased. Older versions might be o...

I am working on a 1' Mountain and the duplex pump was badly buggered, so I mounted a Coles in its place. Seems to look ok, the Coles sure runs nice.

Re: Picture showing 3.5" gauge, 5" gauge, and 7.25" gauge?

I think I could arrange this at St. Croix, if I can get a steamer of each size to remain stationary in the station, or simply arrange some cold engines on an off weekday.

Regarding the SCRR Highline, all the footings are now concrete, and the track is level and secure with hand rails on the trestle. Makes for a much more comfortable ride.

Re: Steam Driven Air Compressor

Here are some things that need to be done to the Moe's compressor to make it reliable: 1. clean up the check valve seats on the air side as they show signs of tool chatter from the factory and don't seat well, use an end mill to touch them up 2. install a good check valve right at the air outlet.
