Re: Interesting guys on YouTube

FKreider, that's what I figured they did. I see you are from Sturbridge. My wife grew up in Southbridge.

Re: Interesting guys on YouTube

They don't show that level of detail. Their videos are not meant to be a "how to" tutorial...unfortunately. I had the same question...how did they do that!

Interesting guys on YouTube

Check these guys out. They are into hit and miss engines but I find what they are doing with Briggs and Statton single cylinder engines fascinating. They make multi-cylinder engines like 2 and 4 cylinder engines and a 3-cylinder radial. They also used one to make a hit and miss engine. Pretty intere...

Re: Auction finds

Sorry if my post was not clear. The steady rest is for a 10" lathe because it measures 5 inches to the center of the work envelope. I have a 12x36 Craftsman, so I would have to adapt it to my machine. It is missing the screw on the top finger but that is an easy fix. It has also been broken and braz...

Auction finds

I bought this lot mainly for the 6" 4-jaw chuck, whci is rough looking but works smoothly. Since I couldn't measure before buying, I was hoping the steady was for a 12" lathe but is only for a 10" lathe. I may try to sell and buy the correct one but I could just adapt to my 12x36 Craftsman. I alread...

Re: Titan CNC video - manual machining

I've watched his show on tv a few times. I think what he is doing to help train prison inmates is admirable. He is slightly annoying though.

Re: Can you help identify these items?

Spro!! My man!! You are the big winner! I pulled it apart last night and will clean it up, try to find a few replacement parts, and put back together. Really nice piece on the Y axis it needs a new brass nut and a new bushing on the handheld end. The nut is unusual so that may be a challenge. Thank ...

Can you help identify these items?

I bought these three items at a tool flea market last weekend. I see no maker markings on anything so far. The red cross slide is smallish and may have come from a watchmaker's lathe?? The brass and steel cross slide looks like it may have been home made but maybe not. The large t-slot table likely ...
