Re: Cylinder castings

There a little bigger than the Gene Allen Chloe cylinders I am making a porter 0-4-0T and I wanted cylinders that set at an angle and had a bigger bore. There buried at the moment but if memory serves they had a 2" bore cored at 1 1/2" and a 2 1/2" stroke so about 3 1/2" long probably weigh 35 to 40...

Re: Colorado Narrow gauge

Well that interesting, not at all what I expected. May have to contact the railroad museum and see what they know on the subject, the B and the 4 have to mean something.
Thanks Matt

Re: Converting a Allen models Chloe 0-4-2 to a 2-4-0

Yes there was, pretty nice looking loco to, I believe it said built by Alan Cole of Oregon. I drew up the frame in cad and the modification to the front of the frame is really miner after all, and it would only be about 2" longer from the cylinder center line to the pilot beam. A new frame would be ...

Re: Converting a Allen models Chloe 0-4-2 to a 2-4-0

It is funny that you say this because after I got the second Chloe a friend of mine said I should bolt them together and make a 0-4-2-2-4-0 or something like that, I even found a picture of a loco down in Mexico or South American that was two 2-4-0's bolted back to back with a comin cab in the middl...

Converting a Allen models Chloe 0-4-2 to a 2-4-0

Has anyone out there converted or built a 2-4-0 out of a Chloe, and if so how did you do it. Did you make a new frame or just stretch the original front frame section. I find myself owning two Chloe's and my like to convert one,any ideas would be very helpful.
