Re: Museum Quality 3/4" Hudson

As a current builder of a 3/4" locomotive I find nothing offensive about someone asking the moon for their locomotive. In fact I "watched" the listing so I can gauge interest. I have already mentioned to my wife "see, mine is going to be worth a fortune!". I then closed the ...

Re: Northern 4-8-4 Build 3/4”

I stumbled up on a 4-8-4 Northern build in 3/4" scale on YouTube. I appears to be very very similar to my Northern except for the suspension (leaf springs). It was posted seven years ago by David Thompson and depicts the chassis running on air https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GTiA2bw5YVI Is this...

Re: Northern 4-8-4 Build 3/4”

Thanks for suggestions. I've got to investigate the white lead suggestion. That's a new term for me. It's neat feeling the difference of pushing the locomotive along the track with a suspension system. The tactile feedback is completely different and more pleasant! I was worried about the spring siz...

Re: Northern 4-8-4 Build 3/4”

IMG_5996.jpeg It’s been a few weeks. Work schedule has been brutal. I finished the suspension system today. Running under air it’s smoother and quieter than when the drivers were pinned to chassis. Really excited to see some progress. I had a new batch of 304 stainless for the last four studs. This...

Re: Simple, heavy duty, truck design for ballast cars

Thank goodness Bill stopped the rod end bearing discussion. We use them extensively in aviation but the movement asked of them is minuscule and infrequent compared to wheel bearings.
