Re: Anybody Know July ENCO Free Shipping code

75RNUP

I don't have one of the July flyers on hand. They may also have a special stock number used with the code rather than the standard catalog order number.

Re: Rethreading question

Clem, There should be plenty of OD there. The next issue would be over all length to give strength in the step down. If need be, the 1"-8 could be somewhat short. The 33mm will have a minor diameter not less than 1.125"? . That could be easily checked with a pair of calipers to verify the ...

Re: Band Saw Adjustment

Is this the blade it was shipped with? A portion of blade drift can be due to the teeth on the opposite side of the drift being dulled for whatever reason. Contributing to the point of only cutting toward the sharper side. Even if you get it perfect for this blade. The next blade can and will seek i...

Re: Which Blade for a band saw, Best Prices

Here you go Don, The latest free shipping promo-code was listed somewhere here a couple weeks ago. Enco sale I like their misprint of "CARBIDE STEEL BANDSAW BLADE ". I am fairly certain that should be Carbon Steel! There used to be a lot more on eBay a couple years ago when I was looking. ...

Re: new to this forum

Welcome to the board! Since you have some laser cutting exposure. Here was a thread a few weeks ago that asked the question of laser verses water jet cutting. Old thread I have had some exposure to both and each has its place. I would think the cost to be so close as to not make much of a difference...

Re: Lathe Quick-Change Toolpost

Most 14" lathes will use the 200 series(Phase II) or BXA(Aloris) size sets. The 300 series or CXA tend to be rather large on some 14" lathes. I use the Wedge type Phase II 200 series on my Jet 1440 which will also accept Aloris BXA holders. It is functional, but it isn't an Aloris by any m...

Re: 3 jaw chuck - basic question on Timing

Thanks Kap,

That is news to me. I don't recall ever seeing this type of scroll chuck!

I guess that would make sense if 1,2 and 3 are in sync in the normal installation. Then installing them 3,2, and 1 in the reverse direction should put things back in order.

Re: Keeping with the theme *Complete*

Well here is the finished project in its completed form. I made the die and had the trays Thermoformed and CNC'd them on my mill to allow access if any future work needs done. Nice to still have contacts in past occupations. DC http://www.chaski-test.com/pictures/69619-DoorAssyFinish1.jpg http://www...

Re: 3 jaw chuck - basic question on Timing

This must be a 2 piece, top removable jaw and not solid type. You cannot reverse the solid type. There would be another set for gripping large OD parts if that were the case. If these are hardened top jaws, you should keep the jaw number with the original mating master jaw. If it does not grip on ce...
