Nice work on the neat bell! Anything you can tell us about it? Did I ask you before what part of Nm you live?

Re: Diamond wheels for honing scraping tools?
Thanks for the reply Harold, and all the good information. I do feel that I might have come across as a dummy with those experiences, because they sounded so wrong to me. I don't understand those blades and/or the chuck either. But just like you mention, the wheel loaded up right away with only a th...

Victor, I'm sure those aren't any good. You had better send them to me for complete evaluation.

Re: Diamond wheels for honing scraping tools?
Yes, JP, there are so many variables it isn't funny. I think I have come to the conclusion to try what seems right and then experiment until it is right. One thing that doesn't help is sometimes something comes in the shop and you can't be sure exactly what the material is. Not hard to make an educa...

Re: Diamond wheels for honing scraping tools?
Harold, here is something I just experienced with the green wheels. About a year ago I bought Marty's B & S Microgrinder. I have never owned a surface grinder before so lacking in experience. When I went to grind the chuck, I chose a Norton AO wheel that was hard thinking the chuck was probably ...

Re: Where Buy SAE 20?
Hal, go to any bulk oil supplier. There is one very close to where Freightliner used to be and I think their name is Canyon State Oil. I used to buy oil there in 55 gal drums. Call them and be sure you can buy a small amount before you go. I know SAE 30 you can find anywhere, even walmart, but I don...

Re: Who are the players in the machinery market?
David, maybe a way to put it into perpective for you as I believe you have a love for tractors is this. The photo under your name shows a nice looking old Farmall. {Can't tell from the small size, is it an A}? Machinery equates just the same as tractors! Now lets say you like the older Farmalls, Joh...

I am trying to take this auto apart and having trouble. The stop that holds the plug in the magazine from coming out has broken, plastic. It appears the magazine has to come off the reciever to remove this part so I can make another. Haven't been able to figure out how the gas piston and spring come...

I think I'm going to agree with Mike with this. I don't think you will ever regret buying a bigger mill than a jhead Bridgeport. They are a good machine, no doubt, but also the one everybody wants because it will fit in the garage. With your shop you have room for just about whatever you find. My kn...

Re: Supply Air for Air Bearing Fixture
The one I use for spray painting is fantastic. It uses a round filter about the size of a roll of toilet paper. Unfortunatly I can't remember the name of it and will have to look tomorrow at the shop. Another good thing is it doesn't cost a lot, about $30 I think. If you run the air spindle for a le...
