Here is the final update to my problem with the 4 jaw chuck. I finally received the adapter plate, HF 29511, today and bolted it to the HF 29510. See the picture below. The total weight of the adapter plate and 4 jaw chuck is 22 pounds (not 45 as I stated earlier). To summarize: If you need a four j...

The 29510 is not a bolt on addition. I found this out the hard way. The HF44142 lathe spindle has a three bolt pattern at a 5 inch diameter and the 29510 is a 6 inch 4 jaw chuck with a four bolt pattern at a 6 inch diameter. A quick email to HF tech support revealed that a 29511-0VGA adapter plate (...

Best way to index in HF44142 lathing operation ??
Many of the 5C collet fixtures have indexing but I need to perform about 10 minutes of machining while the lathe is at normal speed. I want to then stop lathing then engage indexing (at 45 degree intervals) without removing the work and installing an indexing jig. So far I have been marking the side...

HF44142 milling spindle turns at 1 rev. per second
Hello forum: I have had my 44142 for about six months and just recently when turning the mill spindle on, the motor hummed, buzzed and the spindle started turning at about 1 rev. per second instead of the usual high speed. Has anyone heard of this? Is the motor starting capacitor about ready to go?I...
