Hello Friends, Yes of course the switches have an electrical application. They work by a mechanical diaphragm and that diaphragm mechanically releases the pressure on the compressor head by actuating a small valve on the side of the switch. Hello Glenn, Some air compressors have a exhaust valve pressure switch. Perhaps you could use one of these to serve as your relief of the air pressure when you reach a set pressure point. the air relief mechanism of one of these switches is mechanical in its function. These are basically a pipe connected to the back head of the boiler above and below the the waterline. the water glass and try cocks were then attached to this. Hi Marty, That makes it more complicated, could you turn the fly crank thinner with a boss that would press into the wheel and press the axle into a smaller hole in the fly crank. that would also give you the counterweight with a little re profiling. Grabbing at straws perhaps castings would be easi...

Hi Marty Would it be possible to attach a counterweight with a boss for the crank pin to the wheel you have ?
