Re: Hydraulic oils
I believe all of them would "work". Which one is the best? Power steering fluid is "designed" to be pumped with a higher speed pump and to work at multiple temperatures for long periods. It has anti wear and anti foam additives. Hydraulic oil is much the same, usually without the...

Re: Boiler, home made!
As suggested earlier: First, figure out your operating pressure. This is harder, in this case, as we do not know what pressure the boiler was designed and built for. Let's take the 20 psi you want. Most hydros specify the percentage over operating to hydro to. Some are 100% where the higher pressure...

Re: Boiler, home made!
If your engine will run on 20 psi is completely dependent on the design/build of your engine. Many steam engines will run on less and some won't run at all on 20 psi. As for all the connections: Feed water inlet, Blow down, Drain, Steam out, Possible "DRY" or super-heated steam out, prefer...

Anyone who as dealt with Steve Belanger, knows what a great guy he is. I'm sure he would answer questions or at least give resource locations for a person to find the information. At least it's a lead.

Re: Multi propane tanks
Remember, the 20lb propane tanks with the triangular valve handles are supposed to have a "float valve" that shuts off the flow of propane if the tanks are NOT vertical. They also have a outlet throat valve that will not allow flow without the hose with a proper connector screwed in. I've ...
