Re: viton o rings

I was not clear enough, its being used on the piston so I guess that means it is dynamic, the tables I have seen specify those two conditions. My question was for those who have used O rings in their locomotives, did they just use the tables or did they modify the actual wall pressure by changing th...

Re: viton o rings

For those who are using an O-Ring are you using the O-ring machining tables for cylinder OD and piston groove OD?

Thanks

Re: linkage pin material

Hi
I have been using 1144 which is C23 in unhardened state, machines and threads nice. It is harder than O1 which is B85 in unhardened state. Data from McMaster charts.

Re: Show us your milling machine!

I purchased this Clausing 8540 Horizontal Mill with an adaptor for a Bridgeport M Head. There is a unique adaptor for an M Head on the machine. I saw one of these at the North American Model Engineering Society Show last April. They were being advertised in HSM. During the summer I made arrangements...

Re: silver soldering steel to steel

Since I got some much appreciated advice on pickling solution for steel thought I would show you the result. I used about a 10% citric acid solution slightly warmed. It cleaned up the metal real nice. I used the Harris Black Flux since I was doing this all in one shot and it tends not to turn liquid...

Re: silver soldering steel to steel

Hi Thanks for the tips, I had not thought of citric acid, I will try that as I do not want to destroy the finish on the rods. I have rarely done steel silver brazing and had Sparax 1 at the time. I will see about picking up some of those bricks and get rid of my heavy firebricks. As for the drill ro...

Re: silver soldering steel to steel

Hi I was reading this over as I am about to silver braze a steel two throw crank, ie 4 webs, for a model engine. The webs are hot rolled and the shaft and throw rod are drill rod. I did an experiment run using Harris black and some non cad braze. Came out fine but I have two questions In the past I ...

Bill

That is what I mean it is confusing, you get the $410 price automatically, I only get
it if I enter the jun35 code. That implies you get the "35%" all the time??

Oh well, I usually check around take the best I can get.
