Re: Best tap for hard steel.

Guhring makes taps for harder materials. I use their taps and have had great service from them.

Russ Hanscom wrote: Sun Mar 31, 2019 3:09 pm Mark,

Here are some photos from an Enco 3 phase, 2 speed motor. If they are close, I will try to get more detail. I also have the wiring diagram, could send that as a pdf.
Russ,
That one is quite a bit different from mine, thanks for the picture.

I need help with a mill switch

I have a early 90's vintage Well Setting milling machine. This is the typical 16 speed step pulley, 9"x 42" table Taiwanese mill. I am trying to replace the switch with one off of a Jet JTM-1 milling machine. I thought I had good pictures of the switch jumper configuration, but didn't. I r...

Re: Recomendations for cut-off blades

Here's a video of how forgiving the insert blades can be. I have the stock sticking way too far out of the chuck, no coolant or lubricant of any kind and spinning 1100 to 2000 rpm in steel. Due to their shape they deal with the chip much better than HSS can. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Z4pcgmUhN8c

Re: Show us your lathe!

Home business ? To much equipment for a hobby !!!  It's my hobby and my business. The CNC machines pay the bills so I can justify the building for the hobby side. My wife didn't complain when I ordered the building and even helped me erect it. On the hobby side I have a small foundry...

Re: Show us your lathe!

Is it for home machining ?? I would love to afford something like that. No money, no space !! Yes, it is in my home shop. I have the room as my shop is 40' X 60'. I bought the Miyano first but it was going to take too long to get it running. I had a big job that the customer was going to pull if I ...

Re: Show us your lathe!

Here are my most recent lathe acquisitions. The first one is a 1998 Daewoo Lynx 200. It is equipped with a 6000 RPM spindle, 12 station tool turret, programmable tail stock, Fanuc 21T control, automatic parts catcher, chip conveyor and 950 inches per minute rapid feed rates. This lathe also came wit...
