More of a question than advice, but with this instance of the small vertical boiler, wouldn't the low melt point 45 silver solder better suited ?

I'm pretty sure this is an injector, as there are no connections to the axle whatsoever. And I appreciate the advice regarding the valve. I would of thought there is a lot higher health risks, breathing in diesel fumes..The anti pollution gear on diesel seem a lot more than petrol.

Would loctite still be suitable in this case?

6" copper boilers are not that uncommon in Australia and if the fire box is between the frames it would be a preferred choice of material as it will give maximum internal width for the grate.
