Anyone in Madison Wisconsin?

Hi All,

One of my best friends from my military days is now a retired airline pilot living in Madison. He is into 3D printing now and wants to get into machining. Is asking me about lathe projects, etc.

Any one know of a club or kindly mentor for him near Madison Wisconsin?

Thanks!

Re: Pandemic Progress?

Great idea for a discussion thread, I would love to see what everyone has been working on. Like many of you, I decided to make the most of the reduced time out and focus on workshop projects. Got a good bit done, most significantly finished my Allen Mogul and did its first track test in November of ...

Re: Trying to decide on a beginner 3/4" locomotive to build.

You are getting a lot of great advice from very knowledgeable live steam enthusiasts, so I would encourage you to listen to them. The only things I can add are to echo the m...

Re: Tender Rebuild

Great looking tender and very helpful write-up and photos. Thanks! I especially like the flare fittings and very neat hose work between the tender and locomotive. Would like to do the same on mine, but can’t tell what kind of fittings you used on the locomotive side. Could you please show photos of ...

Re: First steam locomotive build-3/4" scale Raritan

I have lots of pictures of the original Raritan which is the 3.5 boiler...many of which as Bill Moorewood carrying it by the stack back and forth to the track... Bill, I would love to see those photos. I’ve got a set of Raritan castings aging in my shop. Just waiting for me to work on them... Thank...
