Re: Welding helmet

Edit. My current helmet is Lincoln Viking 3350 Series 2450. I do understand the resistance changing to a auto darkening helmet. I am number one at resisting change, it took me a long time to give up on my Lincoln helmets from the 50’s and 60’s. My thought was this technology has served me well for 5...

Re: Welding helmet

My HF helmet would not recharge. Look at U Tube for battery modification. I placed my batteries where they are accessible similar to the video.
I also have the Lincoln 2450 helmet it is a little pricey, however it is an amazing helmet.

Greg, That mouse must be Mighty Mouse. When everything is going the wrong way, I go work on something else for a while. The while could be hours, days, weeks or it has even been years. The funny thing is with a new frame of mind and a some additional thinking things usually work out much better on t...

Re: Oil firing question

Glenn This is what I did for my 14” gauge Wagner American that previous was a coal burner. I made the fuel tank bottom 6” above the burner. I made a 6” diameter access hole in the top of the tank for annual tank bottom cleaning. All fuel and atomizer lines were 1/8” npt. I had a fuel shut off value ...

Re: Penberthy Injector question

My 14” gauge Wagner was built in 1928 with 2 Penberthy 3/8 injectors in the cab about a foot higher then the boiler inlet. The lift from the tender bottom is about 3 feet plus. I leave the water values open and only open the steam values when needed. The injectors have always immediately picked up.

Re: Night Running & Lights?

I have been experimenting with leds for the last several years. I personally think the white lights do not look right for the older engines. I use warm white leds even some of these are too yellow for my taste. Yellow would a color keeping with the kerosene lighting of your engine. I also use a high...

Re: Getting Rid of Live Oak Leaves?

We have been using a Cyclone Rake ( Commerical model ) behind a zero turn mover on a 3 acre yard for 14 plus years. I can guantee it is worth the price. I had problems with the Vanguard motor and I adapted a Honda to it. We blow leaves out of the flower beds on the grass and vac them up as we mow th...
