Dave, I think one of the benefits of using the red paint is that cracks are easier to see. The crack shows up as a thin black line against the red background. A little dirt, oil , or grease in the crack really helps.....

This post got me thinking........how do you keep the cylinders lubricated? Do you need to make any modifications to other lubrication points, or change what you are using as a lubricant?

I would think anybody that mandates a loading method would be assuming liability both personally and for the organization should something go wrong.

Hey Russ, I agree that a 2-4-4-2 would be great in 1/8 scale. I was thinking the running gear 2 Allen Chloe could be used for a freelanced "kit bash".

Boiler Water Gauge Installation

I am installing an American Model Engineering Supply water gauge on the boiler of a very small 1.5" scale 0-4-0. The bottom of the gauge assembly has a threaded valve assembly at a right angle to the gauge glass. My question is this....can the gauge assembly be threaded directly into the boiler back...
