Re: Thinking of posting pictures?

Experimenting with various photo sizes I’ve discovered that when opening a photo in the MS Paint program and placing text on the photo, it reduces the KB file size of the photo yet the pixel count remains the same... That's not a feature particular to MS Paint. Because of the type of "lossy&qu...

Re: Explorer failure by invasive Browser

Google Chrome doesn't do anything bad on its own, though it may have set itself as the default browser when it installed. That is an option during install, it's nothing bad or necessary and you can change the default browser back to IE and it should stay there. Four suggestions: 1. Don't use an admi...

Re: Like to worry? Part 2

Why worry? Its all going according to plan. Its just not your plan. A country's government interests are not necessarily the same as, or even compatible with, the interests of the individual. The only industries that the govt has tried to keep in the US is military manufacturing. Coincidence?..... S...

Re: Which Bearing manufacturers do you guys use?

... It is important that the bearing is at least shielded but sealed is best. ... ? As far as I know, they're functionally the same. Seals are plastic/rubber/urethane rings, and shields are a metal ring that is crimped to a plastic/rubber/urethane seal. It could be that the metal bit would offer so...

ECCCH! I got hacked watching trains and short vids on You Tube. ... Had to go to restore point and delete history and cookies. ... Re: Windows Vista with a headache. Any help?

I used to use these. 8) They sit on the desk next to the computer (Not USB) They are cabled into your stock mother board drive sockets and when you want to swap or change drives, all yo do is turn your security key CCW and this kills the power to the drive and opens the drawer and you slide one dri...

Re: Windows Vista with a headache. Any help?

...I am entertaining the idea of twin hard drives, but the manual that came with the computer does not make it clear that I can, or can not. Is there some way I can determine the possibility? If it helps any, the computer is a HP P6140f (Pavilion) Intel Core 2 quad CPU Q8200 2.33 Ghz processor, 8 G...

Hey guys! For what ever reason, my computer had some problems of unknown origin Sunday afternoon. ... If the issue is the hard drive failing, changing the OS won't do any good. I do not understand risk. What risk, he has been using machine out in shop for years on that software. He just wants it back the way it was before hard drive on his computer crashed. Re: What would it cost for making this tube?

An "off the wall" idea.... how about build the tube up by rolling heavy aluminum foil around a cardboard tube. Maybe some spray -on adheasive between plys. Joe B It would need to withstand repeated heating to 150F and ammonia solvents. I don't know any adhesive that would do that. Also th...

Re: What would it cost for making this tube?

This is a S.W.A.G. -- but how about stainless stovepipe ? Not long enough (36" seems to be the longest), kinda expensive (~$85 for 36") and may have a seam (stove pipe is usualluy crimped). though I can't tell from the photos I find. The length alone disqualifies it though. I need the who...

Re: What would it cost for making this tube?

Hi Doug, If it were me I would visit one or more local Electrical/Mechanical Contractors, in person, online, or by phone. Ask them if they would sell you a a scrap cutoff of schedule 10 or 40 as shown in the chart at this web page:  http://www.wmwa.net/metal-products/aluminum/aluminum-pipe/?g...
