Flywheel Question

Anyone know where I can find cast iron flywheels?

14-3/4" O.D. weighing approximately 13 lbs.

Not too concerned with spoke design.

Thanks,

Chris

G0516 Grizzly lathe combo.

Has anyone purchased a collet chuck for this unit? If so where can I get one and does it work good?

Stationary steam engines

Rick,

Nice job with these pictures! What a relaxing and rewarding hobby it is. Too bad I didn't get into it when I was younger (31 now). But I suppose the next 40 to 50 years will work too.

Well....50 might be pushing it but here's hoping.

Milling base

I looked into that a while ago but I wasn't sure if it was going to work. How does it work? Was it easy to install? What about the wiring?

Just curious.

Thanks,

Chris

3-in-1 machines

This is the answer I have been posting quite often...just my opinion though. I purchased a Grizzly G0516 3-in-1 machine about a year ago. I got into making small stationary steam engines as a hobby and for the price and what it had to offer made it an easy decision to make. HOWEVER....if I had the c...

G0516 cross slide modification

If anyone has a Grizzly G0516 machine you have either experienced this issue or it's going to happen sooner or later so I wanted to share this. The cross slide gets used a lot since it can be used for either the lathe operations or the milling attachment. There are (2) metric tapped holes that the l...

Welcome to the club!

I noticed there were no replies to your introduction and being a new member myself I thought I would say hi. I'm 31 years of age and just recently (within a year) got into home shop machining. I have made (4) stationary steam engines and am about to embark on my first locomotive...Little Engines Le ...

Grizzly G0516

I purchased a Grizzly G0516 3-in-1 machine about a year ago. I got into making small stationary steam engines as a hobby and for the price and what it had to offer made it an easy decision to make. HOWEVER....if I had the cash (and patience) I would have bought a separate lathe and mill. It gets rea...
