Re: endmill holders with metric draw thread

Re: Building a Boring Bar Holder

have you encountered any problems with the fact that it is made out of aluminum?

one thing i noticed, you used a boring bar to make a boring bar holder, what did you hold the boring bar with?!

pete thanks for the info... but ive got a "green machine" V10, a later model than yours. i checked out my instruction/service manual, my milling head does not use an adapter inside the spindle. the drawbar threads directly into the tool holder, no adapter to worry about. i have since realized that m...

i seemed to have fixed it. i got an o-ring from the local hardware store, and managed to get the bottom half of the o-ring to wedge between the headstock hole and the sight glass. seems to have stopped the leak! maybe at some point i will get a new sight window but for now this keeps the oil off my ...

It might not apply or help at all but sometimes oil leaks are caused by lack of or stopped-up vents. Gearboxes, etc., will build up pressure as they warm up unless there is some kind of vent. Just something to consider. Don Young thanks for the input, but i think that is not the problem considering...
