Thank you all very much for responding. Today I finally flipped the engine on her belly and pulled the bottom frame piece that allows the journals to be inspected and shims removed. I removed the shims and put the rods on with the engine upside down and played with it a tad to see if it rolls decent...

So its the pump still 2.5 inch scale or?? And also, it is much deeper sounding and realistic in tone. How did you accomplish that? Is the exhaust set up special in the smoke box?

I don't have access to a lathe! If I did you can bet I would have all this stuff done but thats the issue. No lathe and no skills sadly. To many other things going on to learn machining at moment.
