Re: silly question about movie steam locomotives

Had a cab ride in one, not only did that air compressor make that noise, it also shooked the entire locomotive on each stroke. A very strong tactile experience to go along with the sounds, sights, and smells that make these things so interesting.

Re: Trike build, almost finished.

I ride a Trike, simply to remove the threat of wiping out and not being able to work. Bought a used Terra Trike. Uses an 8 speed hub, direct drive from the front pedals. Word of caution, you MUST use clicker pedals and shoes. Should your feet fall off the pedals(they will!!!) you will run over your ...

Re: Mill tramming device

I bought the small one for my Taig CNC mill. You calibrate both DI's at the same point, parallel to the Y axis. Yes, yes. Mount a DTI off the spindle, on an arm. Did that for my Bridgeport, didn't feel like making one for the Taig. Dual indicators make the job go lightning quick. Was it a luxury Guc...

Re: PM1236 arrived

Hi guys, an update. This lathe has major oil leaking problems, and broken taps left in castings and parts. Spoke with Matt over at PM, he is making good on this purchase, it is getting returned in exchange for the 1236T model that is made in Taiwan and is of a much higher quality. This is why no upd...

Re: Are 3D Printers Finally Practical?

I just designed and printed DIN rail mounts and clips for my Acorn, relay board, and power supplies. Also made mounts for my G540 for my CNC Taig project for less than $5 in material.

What would the maximum rim width that these would finish? Greater than one inch wide?

Received my set, they look nice. Haven't machined them yet, but that is a good question.

Hello,

I uploaded a video of my CNC conversion of the ZX7016 mill and I would like to share it with you :)

Congrats! You made it work for your needs. Noticed you went with ball screws.
I too just jumped into the CNC milling world, with a Taig.
