Re: viton o rings

They’re available from both. Just enter AFLAS in the search bar and they’ll come up.

Re: viton o rings

Viton works fine in most cases, but AFLAS is better. 80 Durometer is good to 450 degrees, and is recommended for steam by the manufacture. Viton is not.

Re: Gauging interest - 1" Scale Nathan Simplex

Looking over my Nathan drawings... it turns out the No. 11 simplex in 1" scale works out to be about the same size as a #6 Simplex in 1.6"

absolutely !!!! not only 1 inch scale, but this would make a good injector for smaller 1 1/2 scale engines as well.....
I think these would fit in very nicely in the cab of a Chloe or Fitchburg northern, or perhaps a modernized American.

Re: Gauging interest - 1" Scale Nathan Simplex

Hi John, Unfortunately the amount of labor and parts to make it a dummy is not much less than to make it operating. If an operating simplex is $750, a dummy would be $5-600. If I modified the casting with the intention of it only being a dummy, it would consequently be impossible to machine it into ...

Gauging interest - 1" Scale Nathan Simplex

I'm looking to gauge interest in a 1" scale Nathan Simplex "R" injector. I'd really like to offer this with my product line, but I'm not sure if it's viable. Help to rid me of any uncertainty! I'd like to stress that this is modeled solely from the original Nathan manufacturing drawings. This will f...

Re: Kudos to Eccentric Engineer

Thank you for the shoutout Jim! The two major design improvements are the hex in the combining cone (no special tools required to remove it), and the bottom cap. On a Penberthy, the lower cap has a thin wall that shrouds the delivery cone and is designed to be crushed the first time it's tightened i...

EE Production Schedule

Hi Everyone,

I've added a production schedule to my website, which can be viewed here:
https://www.eccentricengineer.com/production-schedule

The large injectors are going to be ready early July. The decision to make 2 different delivery rates has certainly added to the manufacturing time!

80” Boxpok drivers in 1” scale

Thought I’d share a project I did for a customer. These are 80” Boxpok drivers modeled from GS-4 drawings, to be used on a 1” Canadian National K-5a Hudson. At one point in their life they had Boxpok drivers, which is what my customer wanted to model. 100% machined from solid discs of cold rolled st...
