thats about what i paid for my JET JVM-836 , seller wanted 2500 but i offered him 1500 cash all hundreds and he took it , now i want to go with a even larger mill than the jet one that has a dro all ready installed . what model of SB are you running anyway ??

i dont think it's a mistake ,, a old SB is like any other lathe it's only worth what you are willing to pay but if you find a old SB thats hasnt been ran to death in a production shop or by a operator who doesnt care about taking care of the machine the machine should last for the rest of your turni...

i know a couple of gunsmiths that use this lathe aswell and done some very good builds
if you can get the DRO included with the purchase that would be a big plus ..

Hello, sounds like you know what you want from reading your last post , i would go with a larger lathe thats in your dollar amount you posted , i would also look at some older South bend Lathes :lol: best thing to do is to make sure you get a lathe with a large enough spindle bore and a large enough...

on the lathe ,, you must really like the Jet machines there , do i see a wee bit of a Jet Mill in that one pic , and the Jet pallet jack now the the first one i have ever seen so it confirms with me that you sir are a Jet aholac :D

i bought 3 cell phone antenna's that had the magnets for $3.00 at a garage sell , and i used 2 magnets so far one for a air supply line for the lathe to softly blow chips away from the workpiece and the other i used to make my chip shield for the mill , i used a faceshield for grinding metal , a pie...

mod for your table

i will share a mod i did for the table on my mill ,, i'm pretty set in my ways about keeping a clean shop and clean machines , anyway i took a old plastic gun case that one of my older Bushmaster came in and cut it down in the bandsaw , it fits the table like a glove and protects it when not in use ...
