Brass And bronze?
We attempeted to make a cast brass sign at the weekend the first attempt was the most sucsesfull but we think we had a mixture of brass and bronze The second attempt we think we had mainly brass Attempt number one seemed to have a better finish than just the brass alone My question can you melt bras...

would you guys use them i still have to swipe one with a ginder to find out but could they contain much else?

Aluminium wheels
Me and my dad do abit of casting and are abit short of aluminium
And have found a source of aluminium car wheels
do they contain anything else like magnesium or anythnig that will stop us using them?

i will try and reconstruct a chart on a spreadsheet from what i can make out Heres a photo only one i have it takes me for ever to upload them. i would use the myford for screw cutting but it has at some point been converted to belt drive no gears. http://i288.photobucket.com/albums/ll190/Muskymoto9...

Im in the uk near london gatwick area ive noticed most people on here are in america.
Yer the gate is a bit more ridgid than the bridgeport
it has a 40 int taper apossed to r8 on the brideport.
150 quid! im 15 no job and building a traction engine how ill afford that i dont know.

I own one of thesse lathes excellent lathe one problem is the screw cutting chart has faded so much that i cant read it
Rather anoying as i have all the change gears.
Its a long shot but i dout anyone else owns one of thesse? and could help with the chart?

Ill attempt to post some photos Thanks yes your correct i got my axis confused thanks ill play around with that tommorow and see if i can get it any better the machine is excesivly worn so may be able to make it abit better Ill have a look in to the bearings i take it i should be able to get of the ...
