FREE Little Engines American Parts

Up for the taking is some extra castings that were on a Little Engines 4-4-0 American I reworked. These were originally frame and cab parts I ended up replacing with parts that I remade from raw materials. The castings have been machined by the original owner and do have some holes drilled in them. ...

Re: Allen Mogul Smoke Box design.

All, Thanks for the overwhelming response to my post as many ideas are now passing through my head... make the cover plates...leave it open or fill it with some type of gravel/sand. I had typed up a response to you all earlier and thought I had hit submit but it must have not gone through. My specif...

Although I believe this may be something that could be answered by others with different designed locomotives, I wondered if anyone wi...

4-4-0 Little Engines American project

The locomotive and tender are 85 percent complete and run great on air (forward and reverse). The frame is a modified design of the original Little Engines adding additional weight. The stainless boiler is finished in brass, extremely well built and never been fired. Plumbing has been started and an...

Re: Need wheel/axle sets for freight car.

Are you looking for finished wheels and axles or do you have the equipment to machine them? I have a significant amount of wheel and axle blanks that would likely work.

Re: L.E. American & tractive effort?

Dianne, I used the design of little engines frame but where they had used spreaders to separate the frame I filled in with as much material as possible. I am a novice machinist and spent a lot of time to add as much weight as possible. I have been told that this particular loco does not pull a lot b...

I ran into a guy yesterday in Southern Ohio that is looking to sell a stationary saw that was used on his families farm when there tractors were powered by steam. I snapped some pictures to see if anyone here may have some interest for an accessory to their steam tractors, stationaries etc... PM me ...
